Document conversions are best-effort. Complex layouts, fonts, comments, tracked changes, and form fields may change in the output.
Structured data conversions preserve the data where possible, but key ordering, comments, quoting, and XML-specific details may change in the output.

What are PS files?
A PS file is an image file stored in the PostScript programming language. Containing text and images on the same page, this file type helped convert digital page layouts into printed works.
What are the advantages and disadvantages of the format?
The PS format is a multimedia standard in the current world of digital content. And it shows the following advantages and disadvantages:
Advantages:
You can make digital graphics and text.
A PS file can be sent directly to the printer without the need to open it in an application.
The print job will look exactly like what you designed.
You can scale the images within the file to any resolution without losing their quality.
It has a high quality of details, being sharper and preferable for printing than other PDLs.
Disadvantages:
Although printers support PostScript, not all can convert the file efficiently.
Many current programs do not support PS files.
PS Format FAQs
How to open a PS file?
Adobe programs such as Illustrator and Acrobat can successfully run a PS file.
Do printers still use Postscript?
Not all printers currently use PostScript, but all printers must have some sort of format for converting information into printed material.
What is the difference between PS and PCL?
PCL uses the printer hardware to perform its functions, so it is device-dependent. PostScript, on the other hand, is stand-alone and performs its functions without the need for hardware support.
PostScript is a page-description programming language for print, vectors, fonts, and embedded images.
What this converter actually supports
Published still-image routes use the deployed ImageMagick and Ghostscript toolchain, with dedicated workflows for animation, camera RAW rendering, SVG tracing, and selected modern formats where the generic path is not sufficient.
Convert PS to PDF for page-preserving exchange or PNG for a rendered preview.
The public upload limit is 1 GB. Convertr does not reduce dimensions, duration, resolution, or output quality merely to manage worker load.
Quality and format limits
PNG and TIFF are useful lossless working targets. JPG is lossy and removes transparency; WebP and AVIF may be lossy or lossless. Preserve source pixel dimensions unless resizing is intentional.
Execution is sandboxed; missing fonts, unsupported operators, and rasterization resolution affect output.
Published PS inputs
These links come from the active conversion catalog, not from a generic list of possible formats.
Check that the file opens in its original application, is not encrypted or DRM-protected, and really matches its extension. A damaged header, unsupported internal codec, missing linked asset, or mislabeled file can fail even when PS is generally supported. Try a different published target only when it fits your goal; changing the extension by hand does not convert the file.
