Frequently Asked Questions
Is this PDF image extractor free?
Yes. Convertr lets you extract images from PDF files for free, with no account, no watermark, and no software installation.
Does extraction reduce image quality?
No. The extractor uses Poppler pdfimages with original-format extraction where possible, so embedded images are copied instead of rasterizing whole pages.
What happens if my PDF has no embedded images?
The tool will tell you that no embedded images were found. Some PDFs are made from vector artwork or text only, and those do not contain separate images to extract.
What is the maximum PDF file size?
You can upload PDF files up to 1 GB, the same limit as every other Convertr tool.
Are uploaded PDFs private?
Files are processed on Convertr servers and automatically deleted after extraction. The tool is built for quick file conversion, not long-term document storage.
Does Convertr support password-protected PDFs?
Remove the password from your PDF before uploading. Convertr does not unlock encrypted PDFs and the extractor will skip files it cannot read.
