CSV format guide

What to know before converting CSV

CSV is a delimited text table with no universal rules for delimiter, encoding, types, formulas, or multiple sheets.

What this converter actually supports

Published table and structured-data routes use PhpSpreadsheet or Convertr’s dedicated structured-data service rather than a media transcoder. Only the conversion links shown on the page are offered.

Convert CSV to XLSX to add spreadsheet structure, TSV to avoid comma conflicts, or JSON for record-oriented exchange.

The public upload limit is 1 GB. Convertr does not reduce dimensions, duration, resolution, or output quality merely to manage worker load.

Quality and format limits

Validate types, encoding, delimiters, nulls, dates, leading zeros, nesting, and numeric precision after conversion. Different data formats do not represent every structure in the same way.

Type inference can change leading zeros and dates; only one flat table is represented.

Published CSV inputs

These links come from the active conversion catalog, not from a generic list of possible formats.

Published CSV outputs

Choose one of these implemented routes; a listed extension is not a promise that every codec variant will decode.

If a CSV conversion fails

Check that the file opens in its original application, is not encrypted or DRM-protected, and really matches its extension. A damaged header, unsupported internal codec, missing linked asset, or mislabeled file can fail even when CSV is generally supported. Try a different published target only when it fits your goal; changing the extension by hand does not convert the file.
