- JPG uses lossy compression. A higher quality or bitrate can reduce new artifacts, but it cannot restore detail already missing from the 3FR source.
- Realistic limitations
- Multi-page, layered, animated, camera-raw, or very large images may be flattened, reduced to one frame, or rejected if the decoder cannot safely read them.
