Frequently asked questions

Are my photos uploaded to Convertr?

No. This EXIF metadata viewer reads the image in your browser and does not upload it to a server.

Which metadata can this tool show?

For JPG files, the tool reads common EXIF fields such as camera make and model, date taken, orientation, software, lens, exposure settings, and GPS coordinates when present. It also detects metadata markers in PNG and WebP files.

How does metadata removal work?

The browser decodes the image pixels and exports a new PNG, JPEG, or WebP file from canvas. That clean export contains the image pixels but not the original EXIF, XMP, or text metadata blocks.
