Archive Extractor
Inspect, integrity-test, and selectively extract ordinary files from supported archive formats.
- Input
- One ZIP, 7z, TAR, compressed TAR, GZ, BZ2, XZ, or supported RAR archive.
- Output
- An entry listing, integrity result, and selected safe files.
- Real limitations
- Encrypted content, links, device nodes, path traversal, nested expansion hazards, and unsupported RAR methods are not extracted.
- Privacy and data handling
- one ZIP, 7z, TAR, compressed TAR, GZ, BZ2, XZ, or supported RAR archive is uploaded to a compatible Convertr worker only after you start the operation. Processing is automated, and temporary source and result files are deleted automatically after processing rather than retained as permanent storage.
How to use this tool
- Choose one ZIP, 7z, TAR, compressed TAR, GZ, BZ2, XZ, or supported RAR archive and wait for the page to validate it.
- Set the available output or inspection options, then start processing.
- Review the reported result and download an entry listing, integrity result, and selected safe files before the temporary link expires.
Common failure modes
A bad checksum, truncated volume, unsupported compression method, or unsafe entry causes a clear inspection or extraction error.
Useful example
Inspect backup.tar.gz, search for invoices/2026, and download only the selected PDF entries.
