Frequently asked questions
Is this a legally managed e-signature workflow?
No. This is a practical self-sign and PDF filling utility. It does not send signature requests, verify identity, issue certificates, or manage signing evidence.
Are my PDF or signature uploaded to Convertr?
No. The MVP runs in your browser with pdf.js and pdf-lib. PDF bytes, document text, filenames, form values, signature image data, and annotation coordinates are not sent to Convertr analytics.
Does signing rasterize or reduce PDF quality?
No. The export writes annotations onto the existing PDF pages with pdf-lib. It does not rasterize pages, downsample images, reduce resolution, or add a watermark.
Can I add dates and checkmarks too?
Yes. Choose Text, Date, Checkmark, or Signature, then click the page preview where the mark should appear.
What if my PDF is encrypted or malformed?
Browser libraries may reject encrypted, malformed, or unusual PDFs. Unlock the PDF first if you know the password and are authorized to modify it.
