3GP is a multimedia container created for 3G mobile phones. It stores compact video, usually H.263 or H.264, with AMR or AAC audio, so recordings stay small enough for early mobile networks. Many modern players still open 3GP, but MP4 and MP3 are more widely supported.
WebM is an open video format developed for the web. It usually holds VP8, VP9, or AV1 video with Opus or Vorbis audio and plays in all modern browsers. Some editing apps and Apple devices have limited WebM support, so it is often converted to MP4.
