DV
DV (Digital Video) is a video format used by MiniDV camcorders and older professional cameras. It records standard-definition video with light intra-frame compression, which keeps quality high but makes files large. DV footage is usually converted to MP4 for editing, sharing, and archiving.
AAC
AAC (Advanced Audio Coding) is a lossy audio codec designed as the successor to MP3. At the same bitrate it usually sounds better than MP3, and it is the standard audio format for Apple devices, YouTube, streaming services, and MP4 video. AAC audio is often stored in M4A or MP4 files.

- Codec and quality implications

- A DV file with no decodable audio stream cannot produce AAC audio. Corrupt, encrypted, or unsupported codecs can also fail.

Troubleshooting
- The DV file is rejected or will not open.

- Choose a more efficient codec or lower quality setting when available. Lossless and uncompressed targets are often larger by design.
- The result has no sound or will not play.
- Try a broadly supported target codec and verify that the source contains a decodable audio stream.
