What is preserved
Dimensions, complete composited frames, alpha where the target permits it, per-frame delays, and finite or infinite loops are retained as closely as the target format can represent them.
Frame extraction
The ZIP contains full-canvas PNG frames plus timing.json with source frame numbers, delays, disposal, blend, canvas dimensions, and loop semantics. Frame ranges never affect conversion pages.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does the MP4 keep every frame and the original timing?
Yes. Convertr encodes every frame at the full source size and shows each frame for its original delay. Delays of 10 ms or less become 100 ms, as in web browsers.
What happens to transparent pixels?
MP4 video has no transparency. Convertr fills transparent pixels with white, black, or a color you choose.
Will the MP4 loop like the GIF?
MP4 files have no loop setting. A player loops the video only when the page or app tells it to. For a short animation, you can repeat it up to 10 times inside the video.
Does MP4 improve the GIF quality?
No. GIF colors stay as they are, and the conversion adds no detail. The MP4 file is usually much smaller, because H.264 stores only the changes between frames.
Why is the video 1 pixel larger?
H.264 needs an even width and height. If the animation has an odd size, Convertr repeats the right or bottom edge by 1 pixel. It never scales the animation down.
Which files can I convert to MP4?
Upload an animated GIF, animated WebP, or APNG file up to 1 GB. APNG to MP4 is available in the Animated Image Converter.
