HEVC (High Efficiency Video Coding, H.265) is a video codec that compresses video about twice as efficiently as H.264. It is used for 4K video, streaming, and recordings on modern phones and cameras. Some older devices and browsers cannot play HEVC, so it is often converted to H.264 MP4.
MOV is the QuickTime video format developed by Apple. It is the default format for videos from iPhones and many cameras and can hold codecs such as H.264, HEVC, and ProRes. MOV works well on Apple devices, but MP4 is more widely supported elsewhere.

MOV is a QuickTime container; compatibility and quality depend on the codecs stored inside it.
The HEVC container is read and the selected video and audio streams are written into a MOV container.
Codecs may be transcoded even when the visible resolution and duration stay the same.
Uploads and converted files are processed automatically and irreversibly deleted within 24 hours. You can delete them sooner with the delete control. Convertr does not read, mine, sell, or manually review file contents.
