Which route formats are supported?

This tool supports GPX, KML, KMZ and GeoJSON. Shapefile, GPKG and CAD/GIS formats are intentionally out of scope for this route converter.

Can I convert tracks, routes and waypoints?

Yes. The converter is intended for common GPX tracks, routes and waypoints, KML/KMZ placemarks and simple GeoJSON vector features.

Will every style and metadata field be preserved?

Not always. GPX, KML, KMZ and GeoJSON represent data differently, so styles, extended data and complex geometries may be simplified during conversion.

Do you use Google Maps, Mapbox or a paid GIS API?

No. Conversion is handled with local open-source tooling on Convertr workers. Analytics use safe buckets and do not include coordinates, route names, waypoint names or filenames.

Private route data

Coordinates, route names, waypoint names, filenames and raw metadata are not logged to analytics. Only safe format and size buckets are used.

Local open-source backend

The approved backend uses local GDAL/ogr2ogr tooling inside Convertr workers, without Google Maps, Mapbox or paid conversion APIs.

Format limits

This tool remains route-focused. Use the separate GIS converter for complete Shapefile ZIP, GeoPackage, FlatGeobuf, and GeoJSON vector datasets.
