RAW Preview Extractor

Extract a validated camera-generated JPEG preview or thumbnail byte-for-byte without demosaicing the RAW sensor data.

Embedded previews are camera-generated JPEGs. Their dimensions, color, and rendering may differ from the sensor image. A preview is called full-resolution only when its measured dimensions prove it.

ARW, CR2, CR3, DNG, NEF, ORF, PEF, RAF, or RW2, up to 1 GB. The signature must match the detected family. Archives and remote URLs are not accepted.

Read-only scope

The source file is never edited. ExifTool and LibRaw receive fixed read-only arguments. The tool does not repair RAW data, write metadata, follow URLs or sidecars, or export arbitrary binary tags.

Private temporary results

Camera, GPS, serial, owner, copyright, and other metadata can be sensitive. Results are shown only through this temporary upload session and served with private no-store responses. The report makes no claim about provenance, authenticity, ownership, or legal permission.
