CR3 is the camera RAW format of newer Canon digital cameras. It stores unprocessed sensor data in an ISO base media container and supports both full RAW and smaller compressed RAW variants. Many older apps cannot open CR3, so it is often converted to JPG, PNG, or TIFF.

Transparency, color, or animation changed.
Choose a target that supports the needed feature and keep the original file; JPG cannot store transparency or animation.
