SRT to ASS Converter
Convert SRT subtitles to a conservative ASS v4+ profile while preserving cue order, text, line breaks and representable timing.
Compatibility, not lossless conversion
SRT cannot represent ASS styles, karaoke timing, drawings, transforms, complex positioning, embedded fonts or graphics, and many override tags. WebVTT support varies by player. Unsupported syntax is removed and listed in the loss manifest instead of becoming visible caption text.
Private and bounded processing
Only the subtitle content you provide is parsed. The tool does not fetch fonts, follow URLs, execute attachments, translate text, render subtitles into video, or accept archives and scripts.
SRT to ASS Converter
Create a conservative ASS v4+ subtitle profile from SRT cues.
- Input
- One UTF-8 SRT text/file within the 1 GB upload limit.
- Output
- A complete ASS v4+ track and normalized JSON loss manifest.
- Real limitations
- The generated profile uses one conservative default style and cannot infer styling absent from SRT.
- Privacy and data handling
- one UTF-8 SRT text/file within the 1 GB upload limit is uploaded to a compatible Convertr worker only after you start the operation. Processing is automated, and temporary source and result files are deleted automatically after processing rather than retained as permanent storage.
How to use this tool
- Choose one UTF-8 SRT text/file within the 1 GB upload limit and wait for the page to validate it.
- Set the available output or inspection options, then start processing.
- Review the reported result and download a complete ASS v4+ track and normalized JSON loss manifest before the temporary link expires.
Common failure modes
Malformed timings, empty cues, unsafe parser expansion, or excessive output size prevent conversion.
Useful example
Upload a multilingual SRT file and export the same ordered cues in a conservative ASS profile.
